30 Days Wild 2022 – Week 2 recap

It’s week 2 of 30 Days Wild 2022! Although most of my content is being posted directly to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and the 30 Days Wild Facebook group, I’m still creating some content for my blog too.

Here are Days 8-14 of #30DaysWild 🌿

Day 8 of 30 Days Wild – An explosion of Oriental Poppies

When you drive past a display as colourful as this you have to stop and jump out of your car to take in the beauty, even if it wasn’t 30 Days Wild!

I have some Oriental Poppies in my garden but they usually only have a few flowers a year, this was something else! I think I need to get my poppies out of their pot and into the ground and maybe next year I’ll have something closer to this marvel ❤️

Day 9 of 30 Days Wild – Bonnymuir Green Community Trust Garden, Aberdeen

Bonnymuir Green Community Trust Garden is a wonderful green haven set amongst a residential area in the Rosemount/Midstocket area of Aberdeen. It is almost a hidden gem, and I only know about it as I’ve been with a friend previously. It’s been a few years since I visited and the garden has come along leaps and bounds in that time. It has everything from vegetables and fruit growing, a play area, bee keeping, a pond, wildflower areas and outside seating and a cafe.

Read more about the garden on my blog post.

Day 10 of 30 Days Wild – When nature and clothing collide

I couldn’t not feature this dress. I LOVE this print, admittedly it’s the mushrooms that pull me in. The fabric and garments are all designed by a small company called Cosmic Drifters in the UK ❤️

Day 11 of 30 Days Wild – Becoming members of the RSPB

Taking part in 30 Days Wild has been a great way to connect with nature and after doing so for such a long time I decided to this year join the RSPB as a member 💙

Day 12 of 30 Days Wild – A visitor in the garden

Thrilled to see this little visitor scuttling about the garden, we don’t often get to see hedgehogs. I’m so happy my garden is offering this little creature a varied and delicious menu 🦔

Day 13 of 30 Days Wild – Loch Lubnaig, Scotland

What better way to spend a Sunday than a paddle (or wild swim for the braver in the group) at Loch Lubnaig. Robin stripped down to his swimming shorts and joined my friends for a bit more of a deeper paddle. It was just a bit too cold for me this time!

After a dip, everyone dried off and enjoyed some warm drinks and treats in my friend’s camper van, just in time for the rain shower to roll in.

A popular place to have a wild swim and an amazing cafe which catered well to those with dietary requirements which I love ❤️ Even if you don’t go in the water just being there, listening to the water lap was a lovely calming experience.

Day 14 of 30 Days Wild – A scratching sound in the garden…

As I walked around the garden I heard a quiet scratching sound… What was it? Eventually I spotted this wasp gathering wood to build its nest. Amazing!

Keep any eye out for Week 3 of #30DaysWild coming soon, and catch up with Week 1🌿
