Taking a Closer Look at the Trees – Day 9 of #30DaysWild 2017

Day 9 of #30DaysWild saw Robin and Mummy take a walk around the local park. This is a walk we do often, however this time we decided to stop and take a closer look at the variety of trees growing around the park.

Robin was in his pram, so as we walked around the park I popped him underneath the trees so he could look up and watch the leaves swaying around in the wind.

I’ve always liked trees ever since I was in primary school. I remember being in Primary 4 and we did a project all about trees. We learned how to identify different trees and these I still remember today. We were assigned the Ash Tree and I remember there being a really large one in our playground.

So today I thought I would try and see how many trees I could identify myself, cross checking them with a book and app I have. Turns out it was harder than I thought! Especially seeing as at the moment all I really have is the leaves as the flowers have died off and the fruit hasn’t yet formed.

Here is what we saw and what I think they may be. Tree experts please tell me if I am wrong! I also have a couple that I couldn’t identify so please help me 🙂

I’d like to do a few more posts related to trees involving collecting leaves and getting Robin to feel the different textures. Keep your eyes peeled for that one soon!
