Day 7 of #30DaysWild was an indoor day, we didn’t really go outside and explore.
Robin was gifted the RSPB ‘My First Birds and Wildlife’ book for his birthday, which back then I thought would be perfect to feature in 30 Days Wild.
This book is perfect for toddlers and a nice introduction to wildlife. It feature different activities such as sticker scenes, colouring in, mazes and spot the difference.
Stickers have been a hit with Robin for a while but it is only recently that he has started to want to do more in the way of colouring in. Before it was always “you do it!”.
The very first scene is along the riverbank. Robin is really good with his birds and knew the swan and heron. He also knew the butterfly, dragonfly and beetle. He enjoyed deciding where in the scene to put the animals and would discuss where we would most likely see them. We often see herons on our walks to the River Don so Robin knew it would make sense to place the heron at the edge of the river.
We also spent a little bit of time doing some colouring in together of feathers. The more colourful the better! Robin hasn’t quite got the patience to colour for long yet but he is improving!
This resource has been great for a wildlife related activity indoors and we still have plenty left to do for another day!
